Oh, there's plenty where that last batch came from....

After I'd sketched out the first few comics, I decided I should explain why I was suddenly obsessed with Romans. This one (to the left) has been scanned larger than lifesize for barely-legibility.

Something I had forgotten: Felix was supposed to have had an ex-girlfriend in one of the small towns near Pompeii. Written out of the story without even a name, poor thing (she gets a "fill in the blank" in the top strip, panel 4). Actually, come to think of it, her name might have been Spendusa. Spendusa's taken over the rest of the role, too. All's well that ends.

Number one threat to Empire: Bears

And another one of my ex-housemate's cats. How odd. Maybe I was visiting at the time. A likely possibility. Or, the cats have psychically invaded my brain. Also very likely.
